The House of His Imperial Majesty Haile Selassie in Bath. Bet you never knew he used to live there. For some reason (can't think why) our history skips over the time that Ethiopia's most revered took up residence in exile in Britain. I went to document the house he left to the local community, and create some imagery to help the trustees make it better known, and to support their fundraising to keep it going.
The link here is of course my friend William - trustee of Fairfield, and band member of Da Mighty Beaconaires, who brought their reggae and ska to a beautiful village nestling between Bristol and Bath. Apparently the fete is more used to the sounds of Status Quo tribute bands. The reggae was fabulous - and the Caribbean food prepared in the Fairfield kitchens sold out, big time.
And to complete the day - Kelston is overlooked by a Round Hill. William looks after this, too - as a place of, and for, community. (William looks after quite a lot of things.) We went up to watch the sunset, buzzed by a plane - mostly flying below us. That's William, on his hill, enjoying it all. As well he might.
